Event Description: 'Art is where the home is’ will give you ideas about how to get creative at home. Anyone can have a go – there are no specialist materials required, plus it’s completely FREE to download! Stay inspired with Firstsite’s artist created activity packs, featuring contributions from UK artists including Antony Gormley, Sarah Lucas, Gillian Wearing, Idris Khan, Richard Wentworth, Cornelia Parker, Jeremy Deller, Vanley Burke, Mark Wallinger and more.
ADULT & FAMILY - Kinetika: VE Day Drawing Resources
Event Description: The 75th Anniversary of VE Day takes place on 8 May 2020 and will be marked by both military and civilian groups as well as schools all over the UK. Working with Barking & Dagenham Council, Kinetika have created a resource pack for schools to look back at this moment in history and draw parallels with today. In the spirit of sharing, Kinetika have released the resource pack online so that everyone can use it to create their own drawings to mark the occasion.

TEENS & YOUNG PEOPLE - Rendered Retina - A Salvaged Thurrock 2020
Event Description: A Salvaged Thurrock is a community project aiming to create a greener and more culturally engaged Thurrock. Renowned local theatre company‘Rendered Retina’ will be forming an ensemble of young people who will create a piece of theatre to be performed in a local green space in September this year. The piece will delve into Thurrock's history and will use thrown away items we find around the borough to form the set and props. Join in with them to get creative and have fun together!

TEENS & YOUNG PEOPLE - Hightide: 40 Plays/40 Nights
Event Description: Hightide tweet out 40 simple standalone play-writing tasks and invite writers (& budding writers!) to share their responses online for feedback, discussion and celebration. All tasks will also be uploaded to the link below.
TEENS & YOUNG PEOPLE - Arts Council England – Let’s Create Packs
Event Description: The National Lottery funded Let’s Create packs are aimed at primary and secondary school-aged children, and contain easy-to-follow creative activities. The pack is free to download and is filled with fun things to do.
ADULTS & FAMILY - Royal Opera House - Design Challenge
Event Description: The Royal Opera House’s prestigious annual Design Challenge competition aims to inspire the next generation of set and costume designers. The programme is usually run through schools and colleges across the country, but in the current circumstances, we are offering a modified version of the challenge for you to take up at home.
CHILDREN & SEN - Smiles4All – Arts at a distance
Event Description: Smiles4All is a free project in Thurrock encouraging creative collaboration in these difficult times. Complete the fun art activity, and what you make will be shared with somebody in your community who could benefit from making art with you – from a distance!
This project is simple and fun for all ages, all you need is your hand, some paper, and some imaginative decoration ideas!

ADULTS & FAMILY: QUEENS THEATRE - LOCKDOWN STORIES
Event Description: We want to know what’s happened to you during lockdown so that we can share our collective stories in a special new project. You can join in by responding to these simple questions. No detail is too small! Answer as many as you want - one or two questions is fine. All responses will be treated anonymously.
